Design Trends
2025

Physical and mental wellness spaces are essential environments designed to promote holistic health and well-being. These spaces often combine elements such as fitness areas, meditation zones, and therapy rooms, creating a harmonious atmosphere that caters to both the body and mind. To enhance the experience, many of these rooms or areas are increasingly constructed using eco-conscious building materials, which not only improve the aesthetic appeal but also promote sustainability.

Carpet is making a notable comeback in the latest flooring trends, captivating designers and homeowners alike with its unique blend of comfort and style. The contemporary carpet designs for 2025 emphasize bold patterns and rich colors, allowing for a more expressive approach to interior decor. Deep jewel tones and intricate geometric patterns are particularly popular, bringing a sense of luxury and sophistication to any space. Additionally, the rise of plush, high-pile carpets adds a warm, inviting touch underfoot, making them a favored choice for creating cozy atmospheres. Overall, this renewed interest in carpet reflects a broader shift towards personalized and artistic elements in home design, showcasing how flooring can enhance the overall aesthetic of a room.

Less Drywall

What is meant by less drywall is less “blank spaces”. There was a period where everyone wanted all-white everything, and minimalism was king. But we’re going to see a trend moving back to hanging art and family photos and overall more personalized “things” on our walls. With that, we’re definitely going to see a lot more paint colors on walls (even if that color is a warm neutral, rather than just white) and bold wall coverings with detailed patterns.

More Color

There was a video recently where the designer said over the coming decade, we’ll witness the death of the “Apple Store aesthetic”. That analogy really stuck with the designer base. No more cold spaces painted gray with no personality. Color is back, we’ll start seeing colors back on walls and in our textiles and decor in general! We’ll see the color-drenching trend build momentum, where the full room is one color (walls, trim, and ceiling). Warm tones will rule and grays will continue to disappear more and more. Don’t plan this to go to bold, but expect to see a lot of really saturated, rich colors back on the walls.

Pattern, Pattern, Pattern

This will be the year of the pattern. This trend really started about a year or two back and pattern is really starting to become more mainstream now. So much so that we think we’re going to see a lot of patterns popping up even in upholstered furniture this year! Pattern is such an easy way to inject color and personality into a space so it really lends itself well to some of the other trends we’ll see mentioned above. We know we’ll continue to see wallpaper used in more and more homes and designers/homeowners are here for it!

Darker Wood Tones

Wood tones are changing again! We’re going to see a lot of mid- to dark-toned woods coming back into designs. People who have lived with dark hardwood floors for 10+ years typically with confidence say “I’ll never do it again”. Ha! We’ll see this trend in everything from furniture to kitchen designs to floors. Since ITS is in a more coastal environment, we anticipate lighter wood tones will hold strong regionally, but you’ll definitely see this one showing up pretty quickly in stores and designs throughout the country.

Mood boards serve as a powerful visual tool for conveying ideas, inspiration, and themes in various creative projects. They combine images, color palettes, textures, and typography to evoke a certain feeling or aesthetic direction, making them essential for interior finishes. By curating a collection of visuals that resonate with a particular concept, mood boards help us streamline the creative process and communicate a cohesive vision to clients or team members. We developed an arrangement of inspiration using the top paints of 2025 into our version of morning, day, and night. We wrap up with our themes that focus on the new product ITS has brought in this year!
